Grounded in Glacial Winds

When everything and everyone seem to be working against you

Violent and resentful wind
Shoves arrogance onto the landscape
Weary and long departed
Leaves rejoice its surge

Grateful to be afloat and told where to go

Left without opinion or choice
They flow with ease in the current
Made hard to plant stubborn feet
Harder yet to plot against the status quo

The willful monolith
Strong and grounded in stone
A stance, a symbol
A bold refusal to all authority

No matter their tactic
No matter their direction
No matter their aim

Hailing from the North
Glacial and biting
Delightful and delicate
Playful yet forceful

It’s a wicked display with little punch

A whirlwind approaches
With proximity, it turns feeble
Not even sparing a look
Deepest of intentions upheld
The monolith gazes inward

Nothing can knock it down
