El tejido de mi vida — The Fabric of My Life
The fabrics, shades, rips, and patches that form us. A bilingual poem.
Las cenizas de mi pasado
Amenazan a diminuir mi luz
Me tienen presa
Con los ojos vendados
Y las manos amarradas
The ashes of my past
Threaten to diminish my light
They have me prisoner
Blindfolded
And hands tied
Desconozco esta trama
El retrato de una víctima
Una entrega a las sombras
Me aferro a la fé
A un maestro antiguo
I disown this storyline
The portrait of a victim
A surrender to the shadows
I cling to faith
To an ancient teacher
Como un lobo que sigue un rastro
Dejo que los instintos me lleven
Que el aroma envuelva mi hocico
Que el murmullo afine mis oídos
La cadencia de mi espíritu alimentándome
Like a wolf following a scent
I let my instincts take me
The aroma engulf my snout
The murmur tune my ears
My spirit’s cadence fueling me
Mi pasado rígido
Mi presente turbulente
Mi futuro desconocido
Entretejidos en un mismo edredón
Sus hilos, variantes
De mis pasiones, errores, cicatrices
My rigid past
My turbulent present
My unknown future
Interwoven in one same quilt
Its threads, variants
of my passions, errors, and scars
Carece de patrón fijo
de diseño predecible
Sólo la costurera sabe descifrar
Su locura, el cupo de mi pieza
Suspendida en tránsito
Ilusionada por haber volado
Lacking in fixed pattern
In predictable design
Only the seamstress can decipher
Its madness, the fit of my piece
Suspended in transition
Thrilled to have flown
